Printer Lady

Sarah Hillhouse, first woman newspaper editor in the United States, and her children were courageous Georgians, and this book's description of the land lottery and of slavery are historically accurate.

Printer Lady is an authentic account of a part of Georgia history that is not too well known to the general public. Sarah Hillhouse lived in Washington/Wilkes County, Georgia in pre Civil War years. She was the first woman publisher/editor of a newspaper in Georgia called "The Monitor" This was quite an acievement for a woman in those days. Sarah Hillhouse also published the proceedings of the Georgia Legislature in the early 1800s. This book is a must read for young and old alike especially for those who love Georgia History.
